On Friday, October 4, the ZAC SCHULZE GANG blasted the bloody doors off the Birmingham Town Hall when they supported Samantha Fish at the impressive venue.
The Gang are one of the hardest-working bands around and were created in Gillingham Kent in 2021.
Structured around Schulze’s amazingly powerful guitar & vocal performances, the band draws inspiration from 20th-century singers such as Dr. Feelgood and Rory Gallagher to generate infectiously motivated, high-energy blues rock numbers.
smolderingly sulphuric, the bass notes were blazing, & the rhythms were blisteringly fast…
Schulze’s guitar playing was unparalleled; at times the output was so electro-fluid and magically elemental that it almost shook the listed building at its core. At other times the music became dark and ambient. Also, soul-filling.
At the show the band performed their most recent single, Woman, along with a few well-known and well-practiced standards.
The guitar on Woman was smolderingly sulphuric, the bass notes were blazing, and the rhythms were blisteringly fast. This number reminded the Brum crowd we still have a lot to appreciate and a lot to be grateful for… oh, and that hot blues rock is here to stay and it’s in safe hands!
