We have already written about the Nashville-based sister-duo Poema [Elle Puckett & Shealeen Louise Puckett] who will release their new EP “Pretty Speeches” on July 10th.
When they released Go Away earlier this year we said that it had a “Sad, sad heart [with] fragile grooviness…”
Now they release new single “Forget You in LA ” —
We had a listen:
The pace is reminiscent of the Birkin/Gainsbourg duet “Je t’aime… moi non plus” (the same languid thrust) yet this also incorporates those beauteous silverish vocals that sparkle like dew on the alabaster tendons of male bare feet…
If this was not all pleasant enough, the voices soon turn to mist (as they gaze out) into the middle distance… starting to forget themselves as well as today’s (already fading) memory.
This is appealing and charming indie-pop with stunning voices and masterful songwriting…
