We first wrote about indie-poppers Lake Malawi last February when the band released their first single “Always June”.
Formed around MTV award winning Albert Cerný (the singer & songwriter of Charlie Straight) the troupe spend their time between London & Prague — and admit their music is influenced by the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club and Bon Iver.
We thought that Always June was an impressive and sumptuous piece of handicraft so were pleased to listen to their latest single Aubrey — taken from their new EP We Are Making Love Again.
Aubrey fairly twinkles.
And it bumps along — determined and mindful — like a jogger on a stony beach.
The beat brims with confidence as it keeps your toes tingling…
Whilst the voice is cleverly shy and cowers behind the unconstrained duty of that constant rhythm.
This song is attentive and sweet.
Full of warm emotion that will make you very happy indeed…
