Chesterfield’s finest, the five-piece brit-pop outfit THE CROOKS have released a brilliant new single titled ‘Frankie’ via Golden Robot Records.
The group, consisting of Jack, Chris, Duncan, Conor, and Tom that formed in 2019, are already famed for the superfluity of their sounds & tunes on streaming services, including their massive ‘Nevermind’ that has achieved over 100,000 Spotify streams.
Since their constitution, The Crooks have received commendations from the likes of UK’s Radio X, BBC Introducing and have gained support from multiple stations in the USA, South America and across Europe.
Tipped as ones-to-watch for 2020, last year saw the band release a number of singles, including ‘In Time’ and ‘She Walks Alone’ guaranteeing that the band’s composite rock ‘n’ roll sounds are brought to even larger audiences.
Drawing influence from DMA’s, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, and the Verve to create their own home-brewed sound, THE CROOKS are now set to release their most emancipating song to date.
‘Frankie’ is a number that has been very cleverly assembled around a fervent guitar solo, with a clamor of other sounds that bring a hint of intriguing neurosis. Though, the prudence, promptness & sheer vibrancy of the guitar brings dynamical momentum to the number long before the inevitable detonation of tigerish rock ‘n’ roll bluster. While the waxy, yet embraceable, vocals seem to enswathe all the mesmerizing riff-making — to deliver the most vividly compelling Crooks track to date.
