The authentic and original mid-twentieth century rock & roll hall of fame doop-wop rocker has released a new track, titled “An American Hero” featuring Carlene Carter.
Carlene is the daughter of June Carter Cash and June’s first husband, Carl Smith.
Dion releases the new song this weekend.
The artist has been inspiring & enthralling audiences all across the world for more than eight decades. Now, collaborating with Carlene Carter, they deliver a song that illustrates the ordinary people of America, the true supercitizens, who pursue their aspirations and live honest-to-goodness everyday lives.
Dion explained: “It’s a song about the ordinary person being a hero and championing the cause of the people around them. You don’t have to look at cable news or online and don’t look to politicians to save you. Look into your own heart and be a hero to the ten people you affect in your life the most.
Patriotism really isn’t about politics; we’re all Americans, so values and character are what matter most. Stop looking elsewhere for the answers to our problems; look into your own heart.”
Dion also expressed great admiration for his duet partner and the unshakable country-music legacy that she represents. “The Carter Family […] were there when country music began. I’ve always loved this girl’s voice. She’s so beautiful and sings with such heart; she’s so authentic. I just love the presence she brings to the song.”
“An American Hero,” has been released through Keeping The Blues Alive Records. Written by Dion with his old friend, the author and songwriting partner Mike Aquilina, it arrives ahead of the legendary rock, blues, and gospel musician’s brand-new album. Over Dion’s extraordinary career, the artist has impacted many performers and remains a major force in American music, as this single wonderfully demonstrates.
